About Sorrento

Sorrento is a popular town on the northern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula. It features beautiful architecture, many cafes and restaurants, and boutique shops that cater for tourists. It is the last stop on the Circumvesuviana rail system and therefore it is easily reached from Naples and an ideal base for visiting Pompeii and Ercolano. In addition, ferries regularly depart between Sorrento for Capri.

Sorrento has been a popular destination for many years now as it offers beautiful views and a tranquil atmosphere. The tourist focal point must be Piazza Tasso, which is the central square that has been built over a gorge. Other attractions include the many lemon terraces, Marina Piccola, the Puntacampanella natural reserve, the Villa Pollio Roman ruins in Capo di Sorrento, the Archeological Museum of the Sorrentine Peninsula, the Duomo and the Basilica di Sant’Antonino.
