On December 16th, 26th and 30th, 2018, and January 4th, 2019, visitors to Agerola on the Amalfi Coast can enjoy an evocative, real-life nativity display at the Parish Church of San Martino Vescovo di Campora and the Pro Loco of Agerola, called the Living Nativity.
This year, in its 31st edition, the Living Nativity brings a message of peace through around 200 real-life characters and whimsical scenes, including old kitchens with wood-fired ovens, spinning wheels, straw-weavers, potters, blacksmiths, carpenters and much more! The traditional characters also appear, including the Three Wise Men and, of course, a simply designed crib with the Baby Jesus, who is chosen from the first-borns of the year. Here, visitors will surely pause to absorb the tender and sweet scene of the Holy Family!
Admission to the crib scene is free, but if you make a donation you can enjoy a tasting menu featuring local delicacies, including mozzarella, bruschetta, pasta and beans all’Asperese, Neapolitan montanara, Christmas zeppola and a glass of local wine.
